The Community Foundation of West Kentucky hosted a celebration on September 17 to wrap up the 25th Annual Peggy & Fred Paxton Challenge for Charities!
Following a luncheon for staff, donors, board members and volunteers for all 24 participating nonprofit organizations, CFWK CEO Lee Emmons announced the total donations for each of the nonprofits, as well as the grand total for the Challenge.
In all, 443 individual donors made 1,518 donations during the Challenge, totaling $1,369,915. Matching fund grants from the Foundation (up to $10,000 per organization) added an additional $231,270.
Altogether, this year’s Challenge raised $1,601,185!
The top three nonprofits for funds raised were:
- Paducah Public Schools Foundation – $211,013.05
- Market House Theatre – $120,085
- The Carson Center – $115,600
- The nonprofits with the most individual donors were:
- Paducah Cooperative Ministry – 164
- Community Kitchen – 144
- Hope Unlimited Family Care Center – 135
