The Community Foundation of West Kentucky invites nonprofit staff, board members and volunteers to participate in an educational program featuring Dr. Robert F. Long, Visiting Distinguished Professor of Nonprofit Leadership at Murray State University.
Program:
· Dr. Long will discuss the latest trends in philanthropy and provide ideas for how to enhance your overall giving program.
· Mr. Tony Watkins, Executive Director of the Community Foundation of West Kentucky and a Commissioner on the Endow Kentucky Commission, will explain the Endow Kentucky Tax Credit and how nonprofits can benefit from it.
· The Community Foundation of West Kentucky will award its first annual community grant.

Dr. Long has experience in philanthropy, nonprofit leadership, and civic engagement. Before coming to Murray State, he retired as vice president for programs from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation after a 16-year career with the organization. Dr. Long holds academic appointments with the Johnson Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership at Grand Valley State University, the Lodestar Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Innovation at Arizona State University, and the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University. Most recently, Dr. Long has accepted a position on the board of directors of the Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky as a representative of West Kentucky. |
